The plain version: we collect only what we need to talk with you and send you the things you asked for. We don’t sell your information, and you can ask us to delete it any time.
To respond to you, to deliver the guides and notes you requested, and to improve the site. That is the whole list. We don’t use your information to make decisions about you, and we don’t sell or rent it to anyone.
A few trusted providers help us run things, and each only handles your information to provide its part:
We’ve chosen Canadian-based providers where we can, and depending on the service, your information is generally stored in Canada (some may be processed in the United States). Information processed outside Canada may be accessible to the courts and law enforcement of that country. We’re glad to point you to a provider’s own privacy terms if you want the detail. Apart from the trusted providers described above, we don’t share your information with anyone else unless the law requires or permits it.
This site doesn’t use cookies, analytics, or tracking of its own. Where we embed a video, the player may set cookies once you press play, and the provider’s policy applies to those. The same goes if you follow a link out to Vimeo, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, our booking page, or a guide sign-up form: from there you are on their site, under their cookie and privacy policies rather than ours.
We limit who can see your information to the people who need it, and we choose providers that take security seriously. If something ever goes wrong, we will tell you.
You can unsubscribe from our emails any time. You can also ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email info@contournorth.com and a real person will handle it.
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reason you shared it, then remove it. For client work, including any workplace investigation, how we handle and keep information is set out in the engagement agreement for that work, not this website policy. Inquiry correspondence is kept for two years, then deleted. Newsletter and guide subscribers stay on our list until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed.
We handle personal information in line with Canada’s federal privacy legislation (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). If you ever feel we’ve fallen short, tell us first so we can make it right. You can also raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
