The pages, guides, Field Notes and checklists on this site are general information. They are not legal, financial, human resources, governance, project delivery, operations, or health and safety advice, and they are not a substitute for it. Every one of these turns on its own facts, and something that is right for one organization is wrong for another. Before you act on anything here, get advice for your own situation. Where we can see that a matter needs a lawyer, an engineer, or a safety professional, we will tell you.
We do not have a contact form. When you email, call, or book a call, you are contacting us directly, and nothing you send is confidential until we have agreed in writing to act for you.
If your matter is a workplace investigation, a complaint, or anything involving named individuals, keep your first note high level. Tell us the shape of the problem, not the particulars. We check for conflict before we take anything on, and we would rather not be holding the details of a matter we cannot act on. Once we are engaged, how we handle and keep information is set out in the engagement agreement for that work.
An advisory relationship starts when we have both agreed to it in writing and the engagement is confirmed. Visiting the site, downloading a guide, subscribing to Field Notes, or sending us a note does not create one on its own.
The content of this site belongs to Contour North Consulting: the writing, the guides and checklists, the frameworks and methods described here, the photographs, the logo and the visual design. Product and instrument names belonging to other organizations remain theirs, and are used to describe what we are qualified to administer.
Read it, print it, and share it inside your organization. Quote it, with credit to Contour North Consulting and a link back. Use the guides and checklists in your own work.
What we ask you not to do: republish it as your own, sell it, put it behind your paywall, feed it into a product you are selling, or strip our name off it. If you would like to use something more broadly than this allows, ask us. The answer is usually yes.
You may not use automated tools to scan, scrape, or copy anything here in order to train or improve a machine learning model, unless our robots.txt file expressly allows your crawler to do that. The writing on this site is ours, and we would like to be asked.
Where we link out, we do not control what is on the other end and we are not responsible for it. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else’s site, under their terms and their privacy policy.
We do our best to keep the site up and the information current, but we do not promise it will always be available, error free, or up to date. We may change, move, or remove anything on it without notice.
This site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of it, or from relying on anything you read here, including anything you download. This does not limit any responsibility we take on in a signed engagement agreement, and it does not exclude anything that cannot be excluded by law.
